Here's another 20k gem. The Graveyard of Lost Ships! You may have seen a portion of this before. I shared it with Mike to help illustrate his article.
Disney had perfected the art of forced perspective by the time they constructed this scene. The ships in the foreground are the biggest (a few feet long) while the other ships get smaller as they go back creating the illusion of a much bigger space. To add to that effect the "pool" walls were painted to take the illusion even further. My handy dotted line (below) will show you the point at which the three dimensional artwork met the wall. Seamless when seen from the submarine porthole.
BTW. The ships were made of re-bar, lathe, and cement.
